Hello-I'm another one of those lurkers who have emerged from the metaphorical crafting closet Grin
Last weekend I got an urge to sew which I haven't done for years so I made sock animals! The pig was based on the tutorial at http://qdpatooties.blogspot.com/2008/04/suey-super-pig-pattern-and-tutorial.html but the hippo, rabbit and cat were all worked out with much trial and error by me. Also the cat is called Splat Cat because he made me think of a cat who had just fallen out of a tree or a parachutist- no harm meant to any cats honestly even though I'm more of a dog person Smiley

These are so cute! I love making stuffies, but they never turn out with that "cuteness" that other people manage to create. I got some books from the library the other day - Stray Sock Sewing and Stupid Sock Creatures - and I'm going to try some out.

Thanks for sharing!

Love the cat also, but I think my favorite is the hippo! I have been collecting striped socks for a few months now. This is just the inspiration I needed!

They're all so great! And I must admit, I'm a sucker for kitties. What are they stuffed with? Is it polyester batting, socks, something else? I think it would be cute to have beans or something at the end of their paws to makes them floppy!
