the whole machine thing just helps with large spaces that is all. I too do alot by hand cause i like to take my work with me to places....
I do a lot of scrap construction entirely by hand, so you definitely don't need a machine.   Smiley

I'm not a good sewer at all.. Sad .. The most i've done is a quilt block and I wasn't even taught how to sew at that stage.. I would have to go bother my mother about this project and she is annoying... haha! I think i'll just have to pass it up! Like you said you don't want your items falling apart when you go through the woods! LMAO! I think that would happen if someone got one of my pieces!

I really wish I could sew at all... I absolutely love this style! I should really just teach myself and make some things... maybe this summer.

I don't know how to sew clothes, and I'm in, I can use the machine and will mostly be altering a couple of existing pieces, and the freemotion aspect makes it all random, so there are NO mistakes, and no patterns or instructions to follow in this swap.

Just follow your muse and join up. I also plan to take plain needle and thread (and maybe some embroidery floss, and bead) and hand stitch some stuff on.

I think anyone who is a follower of rules, will not want to join. Cool

The "no rules, no mistakes" is a big part of the attraction to this style for me, because I'm not very good at sewing clothes.  Tongue  There's just no way to mess this up.  If you doubt the strength of a seam, just add another one on top of it!

 Cheesy

I like the little hidden treasure you can add for the different texture effects like an old key or a  small doll hand or something totally random like that! tee hee

Haha, anything I hand sew falls apart and I tend to break sewing machines even when I'm not the one using them! I think its a general technology thing, I have to leave the room when someone has a mac and my computer isn't very happy either most of the time...

I have until 6-1 to prefect the art of sewing something that won't fall apart.. LOL i would have to find a partner who was willing to resew some spots if it did magically fall apart.. LMAO! If i could do that I would totally be in!

WOW!!! This is extremely tempting!!! And my bday is June 11th, so it would be an amazing bday present!! I reallllllyyyy want a skirt and some of those frayed/burned edges flowers/accessories! I know a skirt is hard to do for a stranger, but I could give exact measurements........mmmm....
I would want SUPER random and crazy!!! keys, doll hands, tattered, burned, everything!!

I will think on this hard...

And it is very appealing that there are no mistakes.. excellent idea for a swap!
