Hello all!  I am new around here and thought I'd just jump in by sharing my latest project.  

I made this "crochet quilt" in honor of my grandmother's 75th birthday. It's not quite my style, but I think she will really love it. She has made hand-made quilts (completely hand-made...no machine) her whole life but for the past several years she has been unable to do so because her eyesight is fading. Anyway, I haven't learned to quilt yet, so I made her this. There is a wonderful tradition of handmade gifts in my family. I only recently discovered how much I enjoy making things by hand.

This was my first project of this magnitude and I learned A LOT! Biggest lesson: I need to learn to be consistent with my stitching. My squares varied in size quite a bit. But, now I know and I can work on that. I only had about 3 weeks to work in, but thanks to my wonderful husband who help weave in ends (what a saint!) I got finished in time.
