Rockin' the baubles all around town...

I found a spool of nylon coated bead wire the other day and recently cleaned out my jewelry drawer in my bathroom to find a couple necklaces made with these little crimp beads.  Went to Joann's and got some of them, they are now my new best friend Smiley  Makes for a MUCH more secure hold than tying knots in beading string, then burning it to melt the nylon...they end up giving out as is the nature of slick string  Angry

About a week or two before discovering my new love for crimp beads I had bought the most BEAUTIFUL turquoise beads at Potomac Bead Co. in the downtown area of where I live and had been wracking my brain for a project to do with them that would be special enough to use these $8 strands on...

Behold...Seaworthy Bling

The seahorse's tail is jointed in the back so it flicks around as you wear it, pretty cool Smiley

I made this goldfish neclace with the evil bead string and tore it down and remade it with the crimp beads, and twisted the double strand side for a more interesting look.  Now I LOVE it!!

I SO love sealife and fish!  Got some more turquoise beads in a bluer shade, but still with the same crackle effect, from Joann's on a recent trip, so I will have to come up with something just as awesome for those.

C&C welcome!

Thanks for the great comments Smiley

I got the goldfish charm from AC Moore.  I think I may wanna go back and get another one for a future project...I hoard cool charms and beads...you never know when that one thing you got a 2nd, 4th, or 85th one of will be PERFECT for a certain project.

I like the seahorse, but the goldfish one is simply amazing.  I love how you used the different shades of orange for it.   Smiley  Very nicely executed.

Oh my -- those are gorgeous!  I love them both, but the seahorse in particular is really striking.

I have been saving those gem chips for EVER.  I have a couple other shades...a mossy green, multicolor, these 2 colors, tiger's eye, and a white color...not sure the name of any of these except the tiger eye, and I think these oranges are carnelian?
