My new little nephew Edward has been round on a visit this week, he's just 3 months and has a fascination of things that move, especially his feet!  Knowing that he likes his little black and white picture book and anything brightly coloured I decided to make him some booties so that he could create his very own puppet show!
- here are the results:

They are nice and easy to make and Edward certainly enjoyed wearing them today Cheesy

PATTERN FOR PUPPY DOG BOOTIES

Appox. age 3-5 months

Bootie length 5"

Materials: Small amount or worstead weight/DK in White, brown, red, pink and black.

Crochet hook size: G 6 4mm

Beginning at toe and using white, ch 3, sl st in first ch to form ring.
Rnd 1  (right side) Ch 3, work 10 dc into ring, join with sl st into first dc. :10 dc
Rnd 2  Ch 3, turn, 2 dc into each st around, join with sl st into first dc. :20 dc
Rnd 3  Ch 3, turn, dc into base of ch 3 (1 st increased) dc into each st around, join with sl st into first dc. :21 dc
Rnd 4  Repeat Rnd 3 :22 dc
Change to red -for collar
Rnd 5  Repeat Rnd 3 :23 dc
Change to brown -for body
Rnd 6  Repeat Rnd 3 :24 dc
Rnd 7  Ch 3, turn, dc into each st around, join with sl st into first dc. :24 dc
Row 8  Ch 3, turn, dc into next 21 sts. Do not work last 3 stitches.
Rows 9-11  Ch 3, turn, dc into each of the 21 sts.  Cut yarn at the end of row 11 leaving enough yarn to sew up the back seam.  With right sides together sew the back seam and then turn right side out.

Cuff. Using brown attach yarn at back seam of bootie
Rnd 1  Ch3, work 22 dc evenly around top of bootie, join with a sl st into first dc.
Rnds 2-6  Ch 3, turn, dc into each st around, join with a sl st into first dc.  Rnd 6 will be on the outside of the bootie when cuff is turned down.

Ears. Make 4 using black.
Ch 6, Sl st into 2nd ch from hook, sc into next ch space, dc into next ch space, hdc into next ch space, sc into next ch space. turn work and work a sc into the back loop of the original ch work. Cast off.

Tongue. Make two using pink.
Ch 2. 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Cast off.

Tie. Make 2 using red.
Ch 68. Cast off. Make sure the beginning and end of work are secure and then cut yarn 0.25" from work.  Lace through dc's on first row of cuff (I tied the centre of the lace to the dc at the back of the bootie and then threaded each end to the front of bootie, this made the lace less likely to come free)

Making up. Sew in any ends on booties.  Sew on ears as positioned on booties in picture. Sew tongue into position. Embroider eyes and nose, (Making sure to securely fix ends - you don't want any bits to come loose) again using picture for reference on position.

Please post pics if you use the pattern Grin
