I made these for a swap partner, now that she has gotten them, I can post them......

This was my first time making cloth pads.... and I will say .... Im really happy with the way they turned out!

I did a tutorial as well...

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=344775.0

so any way ..... here they are.....

12 pads...

all of them have openings on the backside so that you can add a liner if needed

They are made of 3 layers of flannel... and the wings are nylon and flannel... with snaps to close..... the liners are made out of a waterproof/absorbing crib pad

I also made 2 travel sized wet bags

and here is the entire package.....
12 pads
6 liners
2 travel wet bags
and a bathroom wet bag!!

I did quite a bit of looking/researching different patterns and kinda came up with my own......

thanks for looking...... I cant wait to hear from my partner on how they actually work....

They are so nice and I love the fabric choices too.  I have wanted to make some for a long time. I actually made something similar for my dd when she was wetting her pants a teensy bit at night.

I've always been curious about cloth pads. These are lovely, indeed! I second the notion that you always choose such lovely fabrics. MareMare is a lucky swap partner! Smiley

Those are awesome! Very well done and sleek, but really cute too! Man is your partner lucky. What swap was this for?
I've been really interested in the idea of making my own pads since they'd a, look cuter, b, wouldn't have to be tossed in the trash (especially since I live with my dad and he complains about it haha). Are you going to make a tutorial?

I love 'em!

I love those designs!  I use cloth pads personally (sorry if TMI) but don't have any with the option of adding more liners...now I am intrigued about that.  What a super lucky partner you had!   Smiley

Those look great! What pattern did you use? I'm looking for postpartum cloth pads and can't seem to find a pattern I like yet. I kind of like the idea of being able to add a liner. The material you used is really fun too. Smiley

These look perfect...amazing job!!  & just echoing the interest here.  Wanted to do this a while ago, but didn't feel my talents (or lack of) would be up to it...would have been un-cool if they didn't work!  Will be watching for answers to above questions & more info!!

I wish I woould have had someone like you ladies around when I first got my period to help me look at it as a natural body function instead of something shameful. I learned to hate my period and my body. I wish also I had thought to make these pads. These are so cool and provide much more comfort and protection than store brought pads. I no longer have a period but I plan to make these for my daughter who will be going away to college this fall. I'm sure she will find that they come in handy when her budget is tight and she can't afford to buy luxuries like pads.

my daughter, who just started her period about 6 months ago, saw me making these and thought they were the coolest thing. She is now using them and telling her friends all about them.

Gosh, I loved these! I had never heard of cloth pads before. I'm really interested in making my own, but i'm not really understanding how to make them by just looking at the pics and comments. A tutorial would be hugely appreciated! I'd really like further explanation on the materials you use for the lining (or filling? english is not my mother language, sorry!)
Congratulations on such lovely work! Cheesy
