Did you work at a certain place around me wher I used to work?  This one woman's voice was so nasal, so whiny, so grating, that at first, I thought she was kidding.  There was just NO way she was serious. 

She was.

Only one of about 1,000 reasons I didn't work there for long, I couldn't take it!

That reminds me of a film class I had in college.  The professor sounded like the Wicked Witch of the West (movie version, not the play) gargling water.
