While I wait impatiently for my HP round 7 swap partner to get her big package and for my supplies to arrive for the OTHPT swap, I've been whiling my time by adding to Tapestrymlp's recipe for butterbeer. It started with Cream soda, Butterscotch Schnapps, and whipped cream. I experimented with some sweet liqours to add more punch to it, to serve at a party I'm having this weekend.

In the end, it turns out bourbon (firewhiskey  Grin) makes an excellent addition that you can actually get tipsy off of. I used Maker's Mark but any sweet bourbon will do.
Measurements for pics below, I used "lighter" ingredients in an attempt to make it slightly diet friendly:
- 1 1/2 shots Butterscotch Schnapps
- 1 shot Maker's Mark
- 1 cup cream soda (diet)
- A bunch of whipped cream (light)

This stuff is seriously good. It's still very sweet even with the diet soda, be warned. I did a shot version for the party too mmm

That looks awesome!  And as I currently live in KY, otherwise known as the Land of Bourbon, I'm going to have to try it!

Yay my package finally got to my partner so I can post what I made! I hope its ok to post full swap packages. I had soo much fun making it all so I'm excited to share.
My version of the Monster Book of Monsters. It took a long time to get it this way but it was so worth it.

The inside, I drew in a personalized book plate with her name.

Next, a water elemental wand, flower pin, and Flourish & Blotts nametag.

A Ravenclaw quidditch hoodie

A sign to remind her of the Weasleys.

Wall embroidery with divination ball, broom and snitch.

Reverse aging potion

And my Skiving Snackbox.

Shocked WOW!  Jenna, that package is AMAZING!  I don't think I can even pick a favorite because I LOVE them all!  You put so much thought into every piece.  And you are one talented crafter!

Nice stuff, everyone!

I've been itching to post this:

http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/38903_05Mar10_hufflepuff_stamp_finished.jpg

Hufflepuff Stamp!  It's just something I whipped up for a fellow fan.  (I want to keep it - it's probably my most detailed stamp ever.)

Darn it.

Hope to see more of your HP themed crafts.  (*finds HP steak sauce in the cabinet...hmmmm*)

YES!!!  Another Hufflepuff fan!!  I love it Smiley

This was my favorite item I made for the HP RPG swap.  It took way longer than I had planned and when I finished, I wanted to keep it.  (I now have a reason to make myself another one)

It started out like this:
a plain old lonely southern romance novel...it cost $0.10 on the library cart.

**Normally I wouldn't tear up a book, but this one was destined to have a short life left if I hadn't bought it**

I glued together stacks of four pages and then tore out the following eight pages.  When I was done I used acrylic paint to cover all the words on the pages, some still showed slightly which looked pretty cool.
I added recipes:

mostly HP related, some family favorites...they were printed on regular paper and aged with tea and my oven.  Then I sealed them with mod podge.  Once that step was finished for fifteen recipes I went back to add all my decorations and here is the result.

And the outside finished cover:

audio-astrophysics' slytherin chest reminded me I needed to finish my wand box XD

My printer is broke...so I kinda looked and mad my own crest from eyeing up one on the monitor....

So wood burned

and painted
