Western Wa Craftster Meet-Up?

 My friend Rachel and I made cookies from cupcake mix - just as sugary.  I'm stopping at the store on our way to buy strawberries, so hopefully natural fructose is OK.  

ha, I caved; I was hungry. Bad me, now I'm paying for it. lol

So, report: It was a fun little meeting! I'm glad to have met some of you IRL now! And we all thought it would be cool to try to turn this into a regular little thing every couple months or so. I think everyone liked the location ok, so I can check the church calendar again and get back to you with a couple date options for Western WA meetup #2!

I'm so bummed that I missed all the fun at the last meet-up. Does anyone have photos of the inaugural event? I'd love to see what was crafted for the yankee swap!!

Is anyone interested in trying to organize round 2? There is a lovely fabric store in Seattle that has a large workspace that is typically used for classes. They told me that they would gladly let us use the space as long as it didn't conflict with their class schedule. The only problem is that it's probably not as kid friendly. Just an idea.

I'm also really interested in checking this place out...http://www.assembleshop.com/. Dharma, I know you've mentioned it before too.

Let me know if there is interest in getting together sometime this summer.

I think I was the one who was supposed to bring a camera.    Maybe someone else had one though - I'd love to see the swap items, too!

A Seattle meetup might actually be easier for me - I can leave the kiddo with the 'rents, then nothing would stand in my way.

I do really want to check out assembly gallery, it would be a fun outing.

Also, just to throw it out there, I'd really be interested in learning some new stuff at meetups. I'd really like to learn about resin casting (but don't know how long it takes or how portable it is). I would be willing to teach some kind of upcycled felted sweater craft. I have a huge stash of fulled sweaters to share. I could probably also do marble magnets, but that doesn't really take a rocket scientist.

I love that idea, Dharma! I'd really like to learn a new craft from a local craftster-pro and I could probably come up with a thing or two that I could teach as well.

It's sort-of summer camp feeling but it would be cool to have "arts and crafts" sessions where we could all try our hand at a new craft and have something to take home with us. Summer Camp without the tippy canoe test .

Another meet-up would be fun. I don't know what I could teach...I sew, crochet, stuff like that.
I'd like to learn glass etching or how to paint plates and stuff.

Hi guys, we had talked about doing another meetup in June. I'm going to be gone a couple weekends, though, so won't be around to open the church. So this could be a good time to meet at a location further north! Hopefully get in a few of you who weren't able to make it to this last one.

As for pics of the inaugural meeting... I don't remember anyone taking any pictures. I did take a pic of what I made and what I received from nikimac. Maybe other people did that, too?

I will definitely take a photo of my pretty pink purse!  And I'll have my friend get one of her robin birdy.  The swap was fun, but I think we'd do more stealing with more people there.  I like the sound of the fabric store for a location, but is it OK to eat there?  And I definitely like a longer day for learning new things too.  I felt rushed last time when I had to leave after just 3 short hours!

I've been meaning to check with the place in Seattle to get some possible dates and find out about food and kids and other details. Everytime I go in there I get distracted by their awesome fabric and yarn and forget to ask about the room . I will call them this week instead of visiting.
