I made this journal for a poet I know named Dolphin who runs a spiritual retreat up in the northern California mountains.  Because he spends the winter snowed in, I figured he needed a book to write in over those cold months. 

I used a vintage hardcover grammar book that had a beautiful cover but whose pages were damaged.  I removed the pages.  I bound multiple signatures in a variety of papers, some tea dyed and some handmade and glued them in the cover using the hardcover method. 





I altered the cover to hide the former book title using some handmade paper and tiny pressed leaves:

I wish I had more photos of the pages; I also included an attached ribbon bookmark.
