This is a fairly simple stab bound book made from recycled envelopes.  My husband does a lot of cut up poetry, cutting words and phrases from magazines and putting them together.  Often, he'll cut out a bunch of scraps and not finish; this was my solution for those unfinished poems.  Now he can sort them by poem and keep them together.

That's clever, and it would also be great for tiny scraps of paper for inchies or collage!

ETA: I just thought that it would be great to do this with those small manila envelopes that open on the side. We use a lot of those at my workplace- I'm going to have to start collecting the used ones.

Wow, is it bound in a way that let you fully open the envelope or just slightly open them?

I cut the flap on each envelope to be about an inch shorter on the side where I bound them.  This way they can still open.   Smiley

Thanks! I thought that is what you did...but I bet they open enough to leave them if you wanted!

This is probably a good idea for a lot of things, like all those bitty papers I write ideas and drawings of stuff I see on here!!!  Great job and so thoughtful---would love to see some of the cut out poetry...I have seen some on altered journals and ATCs--pretty nice stuff!

Very clever.  This would also make a great coupon sorter for the grocery store.

Thanks for all the comments!  I think it would be great to decorate or just label the envelopes to show what is inside, or use the envelopes with windows to give a preview of the contents.  These would be great for so many things!  I also like to save these envelopes to use the patterns inside.
