I'm fortunate enough to live with a downsyndrome family member. He's obsessed with wrestlers, and even though he's 52 he still plays with them every day! On a whim, I thought it would be neat to bring them to life...

This one isn't as good, I wish it were more focused on the toy closer to the camera, but I think it's cute so I thought I would share.

As a kid I used to watch wrestling (WWF)! A cute blond little girl rooting for The Undertaker or some pair of twin punk brothers whose name I cant remember..Hehe.. These are pretty awesome Smiley
Even though you weren't thrilled with the second one, if you take a look at it, it tells a story (to me). I like the three focus levels (is that a word? I don't know lol) of the champion in the ring, the downed guy in the forefront and the wrestler in focus at the back. It looks like a veteran wrestler looking on as a young up-and-comer has just won his title or something. It keeps your eye moving.

Thanks so much for the comments!
Gwennie you definitely opened my eyes a little more to the picture! It made me realize that focusing on whatever is front and center doesn't always make for a better picture. I'm still learning the composition of great photography. I'll definitely have to revisit the wrestling ring! I was also a little blonde girl rooting for the undertaker! I remember the punk twins... one always had a chain from his nose to his ear, right? Hulk Hogan was definitely another big time fav, of course!

i do like that the second one is peoplewatching into the crowd.

on flickr there are many groups for people who take photos of their actionfigures (and dolls also)
you might enjoy looking at those together.
you might also see if he wants to get into taking some photos of his actionfigures himself.
in one of the doll forums i belong to, a member has a daughter with down syndrome and the little girl is already learning to pose dolls and make photos (i think she is like 4).
posting action figure pictures online is a way to involve oneself with a community.
sometimes people with intellectual disability can be marginalized and anything to counteract that in a healthy way, could be good.

(sorry that was really long)

That's a really good idea! He would love that! He was so excited today when I took pictures of his wrestlers, I'll have to make it a duo project next time!
