Beltane! Woohoo! And I'm totally in for cards, too. But I have to admit I'm still a bit shaky on how the card thing works. Can you give us first-time WWPers an overview?

Ok, so the card thing works like this:

People can sign up for a card-only swap for Beltane or as an addition to the main swap. We can also decide either to send like chain mail (as in A sends to B who sends to C etc.) so you only have to send one, but traditionally we sent 1 card to each participant (so if there were 10 participants, you sent and received 10 cards, one from each participant).

Personally, I understand the cost issue (I'm there with you!) and we could possibly do a chain-mail type, and make sure it's not your partner that you send the card to. Is that something that people would like to do? That way, all of us are only sending 1 card and receiving 1 card.

Thoughts?  Grin

I like the one card idea...then you get one awesome well thought out and made card you can do something with....like wall art.  If I get lets say 10 cards then they might just sit in a box some where.  It's cost less and you'll get better quality card. I'm also the type that would worry about making every card different...making things hard on myself and more costly.

Okay, I understand why I was confused about the card swap. I too like the chain-letter version; getting one card is just as good (maybe better) than getting ten, and much less stressful on the makers! That way it's like a swap-within-a-swap, sort of a secondary, independent swap that just weaves in and out of the main one.

i've wanted to join the card portion of the swaps before but was very worried i'd be very overwhelmed with making multiple cards as well as the swap items. i think i'd be able to handle making 1 card to send out as well as making the swap items for a partner. seems to be very less stress sounding to me  Smiley

I would be in on the chain style card swap as well. That sounds like so much fun.
