This is an item I made for the Jane Austen Swap. My swap partner requested something to write in and this is what I came up with. It started off as a composition book. It was a fun too because I got to find a Jane Austen quote. She's so sassy! I'm always surprised when people think of her as prim and proper. Smiley

It's a bit mixed media (once again trying to branch out here). I used a print out of the silhouette that is supposedly Miss Austen herself, acrylic paint for the background, gel medium, rub ons (thank you 7 Gypsies!), Stazon ink and pixie stamps for the lettering, and a few bits and bobs. The inside cover is lined in some lovely, red BasicGrey.

There are a couple things that I'd change if I could. There's really nothing wrong with it, it's just me being anal over my work I guess. Smiley The first would be I would have white washed the key hole. It's much too dark for my liking. Second, I would have put the "should conceal it" part of the quote on the bottom right above the very last line. Over all though, I really like the way it came out and I hope my partner enjoys writing in it! Grin

Thanks!  Grin

humboldtcherry - The background is sponged acrylic paint and I used Stazon ink for the lettering.
