In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I spent the weekend making this dress to wear today  Kiss

The heart cut out isn't perfect, but only from up close:

The fabric was a remnant, I think. It's a weirdly textured twill-y woven. I also used another floral remnant to back the neckline and the heart, but you obviously can't see it from the outside. I drafted the pattern myself and now I can make similar dresses super quick which is super exciting  Smiley

Happy Valentine's Day (and Happy Chinese New Year!)

love and right triangles,
april

Super cute! I love the heart cut-out. (Is the dress lined? Looks that way from the close-up of the cut-out.)

Looks great on you!

thanks everyone!!

Super cute! I love the heart cut-out. (Is the dress lined? Looks that way from the close-up of the cut-out.)

Thanks! It's actually not lined - the pink fabric is pretty thick. The fabric you see in the close-up is only behind the heart to give the edge a cleaner look. The same fabric also lines the edges of the top of the bodice and the straps.

The fabric looks like Pique to me.  Its a cotton woven.

Great job!!
