i finally had the courage to scrapbook again after my first four went the way of "the knitter's curse." Ever heard of it before? you know, you finally finish a sweater for your boyfriend, and then you break up? yeah, that happened with four of my scrapbooks, and i was only able to salvage bits of one of them!

i just need a few more layouts to really finish it, but it's complete enough to give!

page 1 - our save the date cards

page 2 - an early date to see a local band

page 3 - our kitty!! the caption around the oval in the top left says "you have the cutest spotted belly!" and the bottom one says "Clarisse, you were so tiny when we found you. I'm so glad we rescued you."

page 4 - first day of our vacation, the houston water wall

page 5 - our houston friends

page 6 - house of pies in houston

page 7 - st. pete's beach in florida

page 8 - the st. louis zoo

page 9 - halloween

page 10 - thanksgiving (his family)

page 11 - christmas (my family)

page 12 - we don't have a new year's eve page, because we spent it in his office, but we do have our one-year anniversary page!

page 13 - looking back, some details about where we met and our first date and such

page 14 - the cooking competition we enetered! the top embellishments say "always kiss the cook" with little lips!

i hope he likes it! i'm going to add a page from the winter storm, one about our house, my recent hopsitcal visit, and one about our extensive home library, which was a bonding point for us.

thanks for looking at my massive post!

A Dr Horrible Halloween is AWESOME!!

The save the date page is really pretty too!

Is this all paper or is there some digital scrapbooking as well??

Nice job!  I know the pain of being a scrapbooker and breaking up.  My ex and I had been together 2 years, so it was 2 years of scrapbooks with pics of him.  I left it all because I figured it was a part of my life and I can't change that (it also ended on pretty good terms, so that helps).  The hard part was that I was SO behind in scrapbooking that I still had to do some pages that had him in them.  lol

I'll definitely be scrap-lifting some of your techniques!  Smiley  And I LOVE the Dr. Horrible page! I was watching some of it last night actually!  Smiley

Great pages. I love the layout on the one-year anniversary page with its diamonds, and your use of flowers, buttons, & ribbons throughout!

thank you!

i don't really consider myself an expert, but i do have a bit of a scrapper's secret. we have a half-price bookstore that sells magazines for like a buck, and i'll buy the scrapbooking ones, read them, nick some layots (i have to modify them for an 8x8" page), and then cutout some of the neat embellishments they have!

the anniversary page was a layout idea that i got from a magazine. really the only part i kept was the diamonds, and how some pictures were over them and some under, and then i happened to find some really sparkly words to go with it!
