After a slow week at work (and a huge yarn sale), I decided that I would finally attempt crochet or knitting. I was told by almost everyone I asked that crochet would be easier, so I tried that first. I could get a basic chain stitch but anything after that turned into a knotty mess. So I gave knitting a try and I was so surprised when I picked it up so quickly. I wanted to make something small for my first project, so I knitted this scarf for the cat (she's not very amused, but I'm proud of it lol). Smiley

What a sophisticated looking cat! Good job teaching yourself to knit! Personally I think it's much tougher than crochet, so kudos to you Smiley

Thats awesome, it took me forever to learn how to knit and I gave up several times (I just got the hang of it 3 months ago...) , but learning crochet was super easy for me, go figure. Kudos!

Welcome to the world of knitting!!! congratulations on mastering this art 'self-taught'

I do believe that your cat secretly knows that s/he is the best dressed kitty in town!

I hope that your knitting brings you many hours of fun and pleasure... I am sure it will!!   Wink

I was homemade. Maybe Mum didn't follow the pattern properly???
