My family is made up of a bunch of foodies. So much so that this exchange happened with my five-year old cousin:

Me: Trip, what's your favorite animal?
Trip: PIG!
Me: Hmm, that's an unusual one. What's your second favorite?
Me: Are you sure it's not a cat, like the one you have at home? That has to be at least your third favorite...
Trip: NO, COW!
Me: I think you misunderstood the question...

I asked him this because one time I sewed a hole in his stuffed frog Ribbit and he was ridiculously happy about it, so I wanted to make him something. But if he likes pigs, so be it. I thought I'd portray his food-loving in the final product by drawing with a fabric marker the meat diagram on the pig. I came up with this idea later, otherwise I wouldn't have used fleece since this made the writing more difficult.
It was an even bigger hit with his parents, who thought it was pretty funny. Trip has since named him Butter.

As a fellow pig lover, I think he is terrific.

This is sooo funny! I also love that he's named Butter! That's too sweet!

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

Hysterical!  I'm strangely attracted to any butcher-type animal illustrations and this just gives me a nice little thrill. Sounds like you're building a great relationship with Trip, too.   Smiley

Haha, I kind of agree with you, Brandy. I waited till the last minute to draw it on because I worried if it was a little messed up for a kids' toy. But Trip seems to have noooo logical disconnect between cute things being edible.

Also, I forgot to say that I upcycled the stuffing from a comforter I bought at a Linens N' Things that started unraveling and turning to poo almost as soon as I bought it. I refuse to not harvest that sucker for all its worth.  Angry
