I had a glass jar with a lid (Yankee Candle) and a bunch of miscellaneous game pieces with no home so I put them together to make more clutter for my home Grin. I etched a fitting quote on the jar first "It's only a game... as long as your winning." Not very happy with the way it came out and had I bothered to read the boards here rather then just the back of the etching cream container, I would have learned that using just contact paper doesn't always have the best results. But never the less it was a learning experience. And here are the pictures:

Empty, you can see the etching better:

And finished, only need a few more pieces to fill it:

Thanks for looking!

At least it etched. I have some creme and tried to etch some glasses for a swap and it just wouldn't work. May be because the lettering was small.

I like how these came out and now you have your own jar of whimsies. The combination works well because of the context. Good job.

I am always scared to try this because it is so permanent...but I like that you recycled a jar candle!! Thanks for the tip to read the tips on the boards before trying this...it makes it less scarey to have some guidance!

I think your jar turned out just fine and practical--it looks wonderful with the colorful game pieces!!

Even if it didn't come out the way you wanted, it did etch real well. Next time it will come out a whole lot better.

It did turn out pretty good.  And I love the concept here with the game pieces.
