I learnt to knit because I always need something on my neck , and crocheted stuff wasn't really working for my tastes. Up to now I had only knit hats and scarfs for my dolls, but finally I took the step and made a cowl for the last cold days of winter

I used this pattern I found on Ravelry and, though I messed up in many places (which I have strategically placed in the back for the pictures), I'm quite happy with how it turned out. It's made in some Caron I had in my stash and knitted on 5mm dpns. It's so soft and warm!  Cheesy

And about to go to the street.

I feel so proud! I knit something I can actually wear  Grin

So pretty! I am completely hopeless when it comes to understanding knitting term.

I've got the basics down pat, but give me a pattern like that and I'd probably throw in the towel sooner than later!! LOL!!

But this is absolutely gorgeous.  Nice work!! Wink

So you've never knit anything before? That's an amazing first knit piece! Don't stop knitting if you're taking to it this easily Smiley

That cowl has been in my Ravelry queue for forever!

It looks so smooshy and soft!  Cheesy

I'm impressed! I've been trying to learn to knit recently, but I just can't make my hands work that way. It's gorgeous.  Smiley

oh my, thank you all for your kind comments!  Cheesy

jojobean76 - give me anything other than knit and purl and I would be hopeless, too, but... there's this wonderful place called youtube, where you write the knitting term, and tons of nice people appear on your screen, teaching you how to do it  Cheesy

SilkRose - don't give up, I'm sure your hands will end up doing things you never thought of  Wink
