I didn't think I would be able to get this done by the deadline but I was snowed in today and couldn't get to work.  Soooo, I crocheted all day and just got it finished.  It can be worn as a necklace or double wrapped and worn as a bracelet. Hope you enjoy!

Guardie for life.

I am really interested in doing a personal swap, especially for greener things like reusable lady items, wool dryer balls, or other such things.  I can knit, sew, draw, and put things together in pretty neat ways.  Please PM me if you're interested.

Thank you all so much.  Yes, it is crocheted.  I probably have about 20 hours or more into it, from start to finish.  I drew out the pattern which is supposed to look like waves going down the sides of the body.  All the beads are then strung onto the ball of thread in order according to the pattern.  Then you start crocheting from the tail and each bead is worked into each stitch and you finish at the head.  I'm glad you liked him.

A lot of work but worth it--thanks for explaining how you did it...when you said crochet, I got confused...it must have taken forever to put all those beads on before you started! and in some sort of order? wow

stunning...and definitely something different for this challenge!

I really love your necklace. You've done an AMAZING job, so intricate.
I think you should submit pictures of it to magazine stylists, etc, I think it deserves to be in a high fashion photo shoot or two Smiley

It's so nice to come home from work to all these wonderful compliments. Thank you all so much. I learned to make these from a book I bought a couple of years ago called "Bead Crochet Snakes by Adele Recklies."  I love this book so much I may have to buy a second one because mine has gotten so dog eared from me looking at it all the time.  They are really addictive, once you make one you can't stop. Thanks again!

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

Very nice snake!  I hope that book is still in print because I would love to learn how to do this.  I've made rope bracelets with seed beads pre-strung on heavy thread, crocheted with a slip-stitch, and I assume the snakes are made by a similar method.  Thanks for posting the photo.
