I have done quite a few of these types of recons. For us bigger hotties, it takes me a couple of t shirts to make enough fabric. I use a princess construction to get the best, most flattering fit, so having side front and side back panels eats up Tshirt. I just love how these turned out!

These are psychobilly bands that I love, and some extra fabric I have laying around.

This one I used a blue leopard knit fabric and black knit tshirts. I made the cutest bat applique for the front. Instead of bias tape for the neck line like I have used before, I made facing in the leopard. I don't know why I didn't think of it before! It's easier than bias tape! The sleeves are a flutter style that is easy and cute. I was trying for the Betty Grabel hair style that day too  Grin

This is the Back...It's Necromantix, if you know the band.

The bat  Cheesy

Here is another one, with the graphic on the front. The sleeves are "mummy" fabric! I made the rest of the shirt in black t shirt knit instead of different colored panels this time. I used black bias tape on the neckline.

Thanks Honeys!

If you look back through the Topics I started (use my profile) then you can see the results of the other ones I have made.

I never did a tut on this, but I can tell you it is Simplicity Pattern 4242. Srsly, it's that easy! The rest is all figuring out fabric choices. The hardest part is getting the pattern piece that is the center front to line up with the graphic on the band-tee! You might have to do some adjustments like raising the neckline to get it all in there. But in general, this is as easy as making a regular pincess seamed top. The pattern has the top as being lined....just skip that part and finish the neck and armholes with bias tape, or make your own facing.  Grin

Those are very cute and very flattering to your shape. Would you consider doing a tut for others to see how you do this.
