With difficulty!  I don't have any nylon jawed pliers, just an old pair of pliers that my Dad dremmeled smooth inside, so I was being very careful and turning just a tiny bit at a time as I was worried about leaving tool marks on the wire.  I think this led to the very smooth curve.  I gave myself a blister making 3 pairs of earrings!
