This is another Perfect Scale commission, I know, I know...you're bored with these. Am working on another one that is for a Chinese Auction. Not complaining cause commissions rock, but I think I need a break from scales...

For anyone not familiar with these: #2 #1.

Any-who, here is the latest. Jen's (the client) favorite color is green, and that is where I got my starting point.

In process:

It's hard to tell but the grout is a sage green.

Thanks for checking it out, and as always comments, suggestions and questions are welcome! Smiley

Great job.  I love these things.

I have to ask, what are your tiles made of... or more specifically how did you make such nice feet pieces?

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Smiley

The feet are cut from stained glass. I use my glass cutter, glass nippers and then my glass grinder to smooth the edges. Takes time, but totally worth the effort. It could be done more easily with a bandsaw or ring saw, but alas they are out of my price range right now.

I think these are neat. And you did an excellent job with them.  Are they fused or are the glasses glued together?

Great job.

They are mosaics. Glass glued to a wooden substrate, and then grouted. Smiley

These would also be really neat if you did one where they were fused together. Cheesy

These are pretty awesome. I agree with all those saying you should start selling them on Etsy or something! I think they would make great gifts (even if for oneself).

I have a question, though. Are they strong enough to support you if you stand on them? Because it would be so neat if you could stand on these later ones like on the first one you made.

Glad you like them, and believe me I have considered selling them on Etsy.

They are strong enough to stand on, within limits. However I don't recommend it because it could put stress on the grout, which would in turn crack.

Just today I finished one I'm donating for a Chinese Auction to raise money for our grade school.
