And mudkips...

This was my first attempt at stenciling. I was originally going to paint the mudkip logo onto a shirt, but once I started cutting I forgot what I was cutting out and destroyed the wrong part. (I was cutting out the black outline but destroyed the white space so I basically inverted my original design). That's the best way I can explain it.

Anyway! I also realized I didn't have any fabric paint...which is silly of me since I bought my supplies yesterday...

Okay so on to photographic evidence of my new found hobby:

Overall I'm in love with the face, but the words came out horrible...which doesn't surprise me since I b/s'ed my way through it.  And also, after looking at it I noticed the SQUARE outline...which was how I folded the shirt...this makes me extremely sad... Sad But it's something I can live with...I guess... Roll Eyes Although I'm slightly tempted to try to fix it up with more bleach.

For more in-depth details:
  • Made with freezer paper and bleach.
  • Original image was made by/came from who-knows-where (found it saved on my computer while rummaging through old files), but it was edited and changed and is different than the original.
  • These details aren't very in-depth....

I love the way this has come out. I think I will be adding bleach stenciling to my list og things to try! I can see the square outline too, but only because you pointed it out, I don't think people would see it if you didn't draw attention to it.

Awesome! I love it, very much. Smiley I must try stencilling again sometime; I've only done it twice and the last time was a bust so I've been reluctant to go again. Maybe soon!

I found it pretty easy...and there's a great tutorial located here. http://reubenmiller.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/08/secret-bleach-s.html

The only thing that bothers me about it is that I lack patience and can't get my spraying even so there are different shades of color everywhere. And apparently when you bleach things they might not turn the color you expect them to be...blue can turn pink I here...

I really like the effect of the bleach.... I may have to try it in the near future.
