They are so, so, so cute.  I showed them to my 4yo and now she insists that I should be making her a bunch of little aliens..lol

Very cute! This was a brilliant idea- I wish my kids were still little. They would have loved the knights and the aliens for sure.

teachingjonah--yours turned out great, too!!

What a fun carryalong project...I love crocheting while waiting in lines or on the trains...these will be fun for strangers to wonder what the heck I am doing!  Especially the little ninjas--I love those!

Yeah, I've been thinking that a chess set would be fun. The pawns could be basic knights, then the chess Knights could be a modified version with plumes on their helmets maybe. You could modify the gnomes so they look like wizards to be the Bishops, and put a crown on the crochet knights to be the King. Not sure about the Queen - someone else suggested champagne corks for the King and Queen. Making a castle shouldn't be too difficult for the Rook. I'll have to give it a try!

You can use the knights for other game pieces, say for Ludo, that would be cool.

They are a good carry around project, particularly because you don't need stuffing, I made quite a few when I was out and about.
