I started off making a hobo bag but then I missed a few steps at the start and decided to wing it and call it my own.  The outer fabric is a denim weight with black/white stripes.  I handmade the cherries applique on front, magnetic closure, 2 pockets inside with matching outer fabric, lining is pink with little bubbles.  Handle matches both fabrics.  This is a gift for a friend...she saw one her friend bought and wanted one like it.  Although it's not as big as her friends, I think this one is better.  Smiley  Let me know what you think. The only thing that's wrong is I ran out of clear thread so to close the hole up in the lining, I used white thread and it shows.  LOL

Yes, I searched online for the perfect cherry pair to draw and when I did, I drew it on paper, cut out the cherries, traced them on the fabric and affixed them to some stiff iron on interfacing.  Then I cut around the cherries and sewed a tight zig zag stitch all around the edge.  Added the dimples and then sewed them to the bag all around the edge.  The same stitch was used for the stems and then I used a green felt fabric for the leaves, doing the same process.  A few years back I found a simple tutorial on Craftster that showed how to do an applique without having the threads loose and coming out.  It was someone that sewed bags and there was a tree on the front of the bag, very detailed.  It's a tedious process but very well worth it. Smiley  Thank you everyone for your nice comments.  Now to maybe make a matching wallet.
