The straps don't stretch as much as you would think.  Inner tube rubber is pretty sturdy--case in point, when  changing a flat on a bike, you're supposed to stretch out the tube a little before sticking it in the tire and inflating.  There's a practical reason for it and I forget what that is, but stretching the tube is a upper-body workout in itself.  I guess that's why people invented those resistance bands for exercising Smiley

Oh, wow! I love this idea. I wanted to make some waterproof bags to put over a back wheel rack for my bike...this is an awesome, totally fabulous, and most importantly...inexpensive idea...I LOVE IT!
