I hear you.  I love buying as local as I can.  It broke my heart when Lori of The Scent Shack moved from IL to NY (now Synphony Scents).

I've been using Tony's ever since.

Here's her reply. This company will never ever ever get my business.

OK, if you choose to believe her, then that is the decision you have made.
I will not dispute this, it's utterly ridiculous, plain and simple.  No two people
have identical taste in fragrances and we DO encourage our 6 pack trial
fragrances.  I stand by what I said 110%.

We take great pride in our quality and if you choose to go elsewhere, that
is certainly your prerogative and considering the frame of mind you appear to
be in, it's likely a better idea for you to shop elsewhere, you will likely be happier
and that's what you want to shoot for..

Please do not send anything like this in the future, I pay no attention to things
like this since it's negativity and we have so very little of it that I really do not
care to deal with it.  Please keep it to yourself, I have no need to see it. WE
know we have the best quality, if anyone else doesn't, there a multitude of
vendors to choose from.

Best to you,
Susan

Ugh what a hooch! What is there to dispute? It's not that I said I didn't like the fragrance, there are tons of fragrances that I don't particularly care for, but that doesn't mean that I don't know someone to give them to or sell them to that would love them. This fragrance was bad, it was either old or had been stored in plastic and eaten it away! It wasn't a matter of preference.

After her initial email to me, I replied back and asked her if she had smelled the oil or just decided I didn't know what I was talking about. I do! I've been making soap for like 6 years, I can tell when a fragrance oil has gone bad. You would think she would have at least looked into it.

Some people are just too rude to be in business. And too stupid to at least fake being polite I guess.

I know, right? You'd think with something as asynchronous as email, she could write out her rudeness, then go back and rewrite something more pleasant.

It's a shame to have so many customers that they no longer matter to you.

Or so many millions that you don't need more money Roll Eyes

I posted on the Yahoo Oregon Soap Makers Group about this and someone else stepped forward with some issues with her...apparently she charged her credit card and never sent her supplies, she had to get the money back by filing with the credit card company. And smittenheart showed me something on one of her groups where someone had gotten the wrong order and Suz wouldn't answer her e-mails about it, and when this woman posted to a group about it Suz had her deleted from the group.

Go Tabii! I can't believe she actually talks to her customers like that! It honestly sounds very pre-teen.

Anyone else on The Soap Dish forum??  It is one of the oldest and largest soaping forums on the 'net.  I just wonder if MareMare's original post would create more of a stir for dear ol' Suz if posted on The Soap Dish.

I'm a long time member of the forum, but I seem to stir up enough trouble of my own ... first for speaking up FOR the use of Animal Oils, then by being  *gasp*, a Christian and for being a Mean Old Mother (M.O.M.) ....
