OK, so this is
my VERY FIRS CHALLENGE EVER!!! My new year's resolution was to finally make something for a challenge and I'll try to make something every month (but we'll see if I manage that
).
Anyway so far so good: here is
my totally free totally reused and reusable bag:

I didn't buy ANYTHING for this bag - everything was found at home. It is made from old thorn B's jeans, old thorn dad's shirt and plastic hangers that you get with children's clothing when you buy them (which I usually don't but I did once before my first dd was born and I just couldn't make myself throw this things away - she's 2,5 years now
, the hangers were waiting for their time to shine all this time...
) Now I finally found a way to use them and I'm quite happy to put them out of the way
. I was thinking of this project and suddenly saw one of the hangers lying around and the idea was born. I first thought they won't be able to serve their duty but they are surprisingly OK with it!

here it is opened out so you can see the lining and the 2 different handles (I'll explain why in a minute):
Here I loaded the bag with quite some stuff - as you can see I could put some more stuff in it - but my time was limited (the baby sleeps only 20-30 minutes a day...):

the jeans cut up: I can allways use the legs but the upperparts usually stay since you can not use them as a fabric - so this time I wanted to do something with the waist part of the jeans. I cut out 2 bottom parts from leg parts of jeans to make the bottom more sturdy.
here is one of the bottom parts pinned to the upper part:
cutting the lining from a shirt:
the topstitching of the first bottom part to add strength to the bag - afterwards I stitched the other bottom part on as well so it's really sturdy:
First I cut the upper part of the handles off and smoothed the area:
Than I just snipped the other protruding parts of the hangers:
Sorry, folks, I stopped taking pictures afterward but I can make another one for the tut if somebody would be very interested.
Than of course I can not take a picture of anything with my dd around without her "helping me" - so you get the "action pics" as well

the other way of carrying it - with the sewn handles - I added those since I was not sure how strong the hangers will be and I didn't want to take the whole bag apart in case one of those broke - I want it to be useful:

During the photoshoot my youngest dd woke up and of course wanted to participate. She always climbs into everything - into boxes, baskets,... (she usually throws out all the toys from their toy-basket just to make room for herself
) So we thought that would make a cute picture. And here is the proof for the sturdiness (the baby is 9 kilos - 20 pounds):
