Both this and your seaweed necklace are stunning. Are they really just basic beading stitches like peyote? I want to have a go and these have inspired me to start now!

Yes, they are.
there is peyote and freeform net mainly.
Angle peyote  for the flower (Russian leaf) in Wedding Ice
Embroidered net in the middle of The Black Sea one.
