I've had this since I was a baby ... it was passed down from other family members.  I never continued that tradition of passing it along and globbed onto it ... I still have it! It's been through a lot ... patched up all over the place.  The outside is all sewn up tiny squares of cotton fabric with children's illustrations.  It's stuffed with old cut up nylons.

That's cool, but there's nothing like that cute old vintage fabric that the Garbage Collectors is made out of...

ya know what? reprodepot fabrics (and probably other stores) sell reproductions of fabrics just like that. here's an example:

There is a much-loved homeless doggie just like this one at a local thrift store.  I'd have brought it home already but they want $20 for it.  It's made of feed-sack material.  Very adorable.

Everyone I know has *just* had babies, so I cut out squares like a mo'fo & cranked out six of these, according to the hancock pattern (Is it still cranking if it takes a month?). The Hancock ones turned out to be MASSIVE. My friend's boyfriend thought they were horses. Maybe I somehow screwed up directions? I was also an idiot & managed to not photograph any of them before sending them out. Poops. I'm hoping I'll get a picture of a baby & dog from some parent!
