I used this pattern http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-a-hat/ as a base and then altered it to make a storm trooper helmet because I love Star Wars.

I am still debating whether or not to add ear flaps.

Don't worry, it's just a plastic boob.

good job!  (earflaps could make it more helmet-like.  maybe.)

Thank you! (That's what I thought too. Maybe I'll make them and see how they look and then decide)

Just got a good start on it yesterday!  I'm just afraid that it's not going to be wide enough.  Cause I have a very tight stitch, which makes it warm I guess.  Maybe it'll be wider than I thought.  I went out like two or three more rows than the pattern said to.  I love it though.  I really need a SW to go along with it.

I am excited to make it. I just need to find the right color yarn. It's frustrating!

The fit is tight if you crochet tight. Mine just barely fits my head.

What does SW mean?

Star Wars.  I was just too lazy to type it out.

Yeah...I have a really tight stitch, it's kind of a problem.  At least it's easy to unravel and try again.

Great idea!

I made a hat with a stormtrooper face on it, but I like your idea better to actually make the hat the helmet!

Very nice! I finally got around to checking it out. It's always nice to see more star wars crochet out there in the world.

Well, if you end up having to make one it's a relatively quick project...

Thank you for the compliment!

Ooh. I  like it. I like that it has more of the details of the helmet than mine does.
