May I ask where you found those tiny crochet hooks for the crochet ornaments?  They are adorable!

Thanks Sliongmomma - I am so glad that they are not too small for him - knowing how little guys grow like weeds.  I would love to see some action shots.

The lovely and awesome spookypooky contacted me about doing a personal swap, my very first personal swap, it went awesome. I asked for a cryptozoology curio cabinet or a day of the dead shrine and spookypooky asked if she could make both and of course i said yes and here are the awesome photos of the awesomeness she sent me, pretty much she rocks.

I think the cryptozoology shrine and yet are awesome - so cute - do either one of you watch MonsterQuest?  I just started and it is fascinating

May I ask where you found those tiny crochet hooks for the crochet ornaments?  They are adorable!

Thank you - I actually bought small pine craft dowels, and used an Olfa knife to cut them down to the length I want, then did a rough carving of the hook, and a fine grit sand paper to do the final shaping and smoothing out of it.  Then finished with a couple of layers of clear coat.  Because the dowels were so small, I had a number of failures with them breaking through or splitting, and chose the best ones out of a bunch I made to make the ornaments.  Serious pain in the A.

MommyTheMaid contacted me to do a private swap because she wanted some hooded towels for her kids. She sent me some felt food 'cause I'm collecting it for my son Here's what she sent:



And she included chef's hats for both of my sons! Unfortunately, my older son has a redonkulously large head, so his didn't fit (although I could probably add some extra fabric & velcro to make it fit), but they both fit my youngest son:

She wanted a fruit beanie for a newborn, but I've grown so tired with strawberry hats that I decided to go for the Swedish author/illustrater Elsa Beskow instead. She wrote this beautiful story about Tomtebobarnen long time ago and all the little children has death cap-hats. I've loved that story all my life and it felt nice to make something that not everyone has.
I know gamemom42 loved it and I hope you do too.
