I was nervous about making this purse because I had never made anything with a zipper before.  I was trying to talk my mom into making the purse for me, but she said she wouldn't do it because I know how to sew.  LOL.  So after not having a zipper, snatching a zipper from my mom, losing said zipper, then buying a new one, I finally got to making this purse.  The pattern I used is "My Bag!... pocket purse" from Vanilla House Designs purchased at my local quilt store.  There is the option to make the bag with or without the flap in several sizes.  I chose the largest size at 7" and opted for the flap.

The zipper!

The strap came out a little weird, but the average person probably won't notice.  I just so dang happy that the zipper wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Thanks guys!  I saw the fabric and was like "I don't know what I'm going to make with this, but I need some!" then I found this pattern.

Hebe- give it a try!  Its nowhere near as hard as you'd think to do a zipper.

way to go.  I totally understand about zippers.  I have used them before, but not enough to be comfortable.  I'm working on several purses at the moment, but plan to use a zipper with a bag this year.  thanks.

Thanks very much everyone!  BTW, the fabric was a find at my local Jo-Ann's.
