I was excited to try a new ATC style, so I ordered some black cardstock on Etsy (cannot find any around here!)).
Most silhouettes are based on free clipart found online.  I drew the images on regular paper, then traced it onto the cardstock using a white carbon transfer paper.
Some clumsy scissoring and voila! Mini papercut shapes!
Backgrounds include scrapbook paper and inks. Some have tiny jewels for embellishment.

clockwise from top left:
Steampunk Standoff
Crane (on Japanese washi paper with 9 "jewels")
Wind Me Up
Breeze

clockwise from top left
Goodbye
Reflect
Pensive Owl
Imagine (personal collection)

I already have 8 more designs cut from the black cardstock.  I just need to cut more ATC backs  Grin

**more cards in this silhouette series on pages 2 and 3

Those are really great. I've never thought of cut paper silhouettes for ATCs - lots of possibilities there. I have a scrap of that same washi paper left over from some long-ago project. You've inspired me to do something with it!

Thanks everyone Smiley
I just finished up the last 3 silhouettes of the night.
I had been doing the papercutting over the past few nights, and today was background & assembly day.
I have learned that cutting antlers and branches is a real b*tch when using Dollarama barber shears for scissors LOL

I really like these, Absinthe And Goodbye are my favorites  Smiley although the Prophets is up there too

it's funny you should post ATCs with silhouettes today. Yesterday I was thinking about doing a  silhouette for a Valentine's page I have in mind. I was thinking about maybe not being able to find a design that would work, but I think I'm going to try and see what I can find...

I would love to have any one of them... but if I were you I'd be sad about having to let go of them, haha.

Color transfer paper can usually be found in quilting supply shops.  It comes in black, red, yellow and white (maybe others too, this is just what I have seen).
If you can't find any locally, then Etsy or eBay are great options.
It is great stuff for both paper and fabric work.

I love your first set of four!

They are very indie and I adore them. You have inspired me to attempt silhouettes in the near future once I am done with my current series.

Great job!
