Hello everyone and thank you for a warm welcome!

I've had this little cotton jacket sitting around for a while without much wear.  I've wanted to liven up some of my clothes for a while and decided to try my hand on this one.

I've always loved the little crowns on the button so decided to embroider a crown on the chest.

My doodles!  Since the navy was to dark for me to draw on with a pen, I just cut out one of the crowns and used it as a guide.  Then I lightly drew the guidelines for the top where I made french knots.

I'm very happy with it!  I have an old brown cardigan I want to alter a bit, and I've got a bit more courage to try now.

There's more at my blog linked in my signature for anyone interested Smiley

It's lovely. I love crowns, they're so pretty and dainty. It really suits the jacket, like it was meant to be there all along. You've done a great job. Smiley

I think it's perfect for that jacket. Nicely done!

(If you're ever wanting to draw directly on dark fabric in the future, you can find white marking pens that are water-soluble that do the trick nicely.)

very nice job! you reminded me that I should embroider something for myself. I tend to always do it as a gift for someone else.
