That's what I love about art- (at least what I believe to be true about art) that it is so open to interpretation and the viewer's interpretation is just as valid as the creator's. Honesty, I just really love things that are strange and I love to make people laugh (if it wasn't for my own agoraphobia (well not quite agoraphobia, maybe just fear of public speaking) I would have gone into stand up comedy.) Since I've put that out of the question, I like to make things that (hopefully) make people laugh. And this piece was a win win- my classmates laughed while looking at it and I also got a good laugh watching them look into his back end!
So long story short- yes, it could totally be a reference to ostriches hiding their heads/waiting if that is what you read out of the piece (don't sell yourself so short about your deciphering skills!) My intent was to just make a piece that was bizarre- and to let the viewer make whatever meaning he/she wanted to from it. So it worked!
