Does anyone have an easy recipe to make naan?  Naan is basically the indian version of a tortilla, looks kind of like pita bread.  I haven't been able to find a recipe that doesn't take 4 hours to complete, but I guess thats what you get when you make bread.

i think what makes naan so special is you put more baking soda on it and let it rest for a longer time than french bread.

perhaps if you preheat the oven and a container, switch it off, then put the dug in the container, cover it with foil paper and put it all in the oven, it'll take you half the time.

but on the other hand, i could dry it...

What makes naan so special is it is usually cooked in a tandoor.  I love naan.  An Indian restaurant (fortunately for me, owned and run by Indians with Indian cooks, mmmmmm,) here in town makes a naan with cashews and raisins in.  Dipped in chutney, it's a little slice of heaven.

The differences between tandoors and regular ovens are what cause most of the issues.  You'll always have some issues with time because it is a yeast bread, but this one only rises for an hour.  It also requires your oven to be set at it's highest temperature.

This one also takes only an hour to rise, but calls for using your broiler instead of the oven.
