What a terrific idea - and you've done it so beautifully, it certainly doesn't look patched together.  Gorgeous.

Really pretty! And this way, the hard work that went into them gets appreciated more (I mean, how many people see them when they are under a glass or on the piano somewhere?Huh) I really like it!

I tried something similar a couple of months back and it did not turn out anywhere CLOSE to this well. A truly gorgeous piece of creativity.

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

First, thankyou Smiley
Did you have a dressform?  Another thing I forgot to mention is that it took me quite a while to find pieces that draped properly.  Like I said, I was collecting them for a while.  The shapes that I made this top from are mostly rectangles (except for the one over my rearend), but the piece on the back is two thickly crocheted diamond-shaped pieces.  It originally turned out too big because i had the form set too large (I just got it, still figuring out the little tricks!) so it was a lot of trial and error.  It's like a huge puzzle, and I adore puzzles!

i saw somewhere that a girl made a form fitting morticia addams style white fishtail skirt out of an old damaged crochet bed coverlet... she reworked the diamond pattern and stitched it together... i need to brush up on my crocheting and make one too, it was gorgeous
