This purse thing is slightly addicting!

I made this one using a pattern for a clutch in Amy Butler's In Stitches book. I'm not a clutch fan and I adore pockets. So this was my first adventure into adding zippered pockets - oh and slash pockets too!

As you can see, this purse probably should've stayed being a clutch or else someone with more experience should've designed the straps - they're HUGE, but I like them...just on something else

A 'not very good' picture of the magnetic snap closure (the pattern called for Velcro, I don't like Velcro - but magnets are fun!).

Back zippered pocket, which is also HUGE, not part of the original pattern and should accompany whatever purse the straps would feel more at home on.

A slightly different picture of the front, showing a bit more of the slash pockets that oddly came out too small - and were not part of the original pattern.

Inside of purse. The swivel clip also wasn't part of the original pattern, I love those things. My favorite purse has one and I hook my keys to it - so handy, so I had to have one in this purse.

A close-up of the inside zippered pocket (also not part of the pattern) that came out entirely too long - hahaha I don't know what I was thinking, but I made the pocket the same length as the purse. Makes it a bit of a chore to get the end of the zipper.

i think you did a wonderful job,  I actually like the handles the way you did them and I'm with you I'm not a clutch person either.
