I had plans to make a briefcase with my floppy disks, but life got in the way, so I made this shopping bag instead.

I found the handles in a bag of stuff that was being thrown out, had the floppy disks left over from the old days when that was our storage device, and bought the zip ties to hold it all together.

Here's the bag.  Full on view.

The inside.

In profile.

Then I gave it a test.  I took it to the grocery store to get a reaction from the folks who work there.  The bagger had no problem putting my groceries in it.

And I even got my five cent bag refund.

This bag has 34 floppy disks and over 100 zip ties in it.

Enjoy!!

I like it a lot! I can imagine the attention you are going to get. I have an idea... Make a square shaped on for knitting projects... just put a lining in it. It would stand up great on it's own. I'd borrow that idea, but I haven't any floppies...
  Have fun with it!

So cool and fun!
I love the contrast of the wooden handles against the modern plastic discs.

Thank you all for your comments.  This bag was easy to make, although it took longer to make than I expected.  It was a lot of fun to make.

It took over two hours from start to finish.  I had made a smaller bag, about half the size, and it only took me 45 minutes, but this one was fiddly because of the bigger size.

It's on my list of 50 projects for the year, but I don't have enough floppies to do it.

Yeah, it's our favorite take home ice cream.  I have to clarify that, because if we get a chance, we go to Tillamook for their famous ice cream.

Thanks for the comment.
