Qualifications to Join

To join this round you must be cleared in all Ongoing Wish list Swaps through Round 52
(except for international delivery).  You also cannot join this swap if you are currently late in Round 53 or 54.
Do not join this swap if you are late in other swaps.  Please make those swaps your priority.

Organizer Notes and Stuff

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:

- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants

How This Swap Works:
Please READ CAREFULLY! This swap works differently than most!

Try to imagine a chain.  The first link is the first person whose wish list is on page 1 (Person A) - that will be the craftster member who was the very last wish list from Ongoing Wish Swap 54.

Now, we want to put another link in the chain.  People will read that list and see if there is something they want to/can make from the list.

Someone (Person B) will claim Person A for some item on their wish list.  They post a reply to the thread that says “I claim Person A for [item].  This is my X claim (however many times they have picked someone – for example, "this is my fourth wish, with one sent, and three received,” (meaning that this is the fourth claim they've made, one is in transit to it's destination, and three of the items have been received by the people they previously claimed).  Also add your location, and any preferences or aversions – “I live in Wisconsin USA, I am a vegetarian, and I am allergic to wool”.

IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REPLY WITH YOUR STATUS WHEN YOU CLAIM SOMEONE!  This means you need to post who you are claiming and for what, how many claims you have made, including how many in transit and how many received, and your location/preferences/aversions.

Then comes the fun part!  After the introduction, Person B is the last link in the chain, and they post their wish list!!!  YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY ITEMS ON YOUR WISH LIST AS YOU WANT, HOWEVER YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF SIX.  THE MORE ITEMS YOU LIST, THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES OF BEING CLAIMED QUICKLY.

(Please have your list ready, this swap moves very quickly!  Please include your country at the start of your wish list). Person B will also PM Person A to get her address so they can mail the item when it is finished.  

Along comes Person C, who claims Person B for something on their list and the chain is built, link by link.  (If Person C wanted to make Person B a purse AND a stuffie, that would still count as ONE WISH.)  Then they post their list, and so on.

When you want to make a claim, you can ONLY pick from the very last wish list in the chain.  You can't pick anyone else in the chain - you can only connect to the very end of the chain, which is that last wish list posted.

After you have made your claim, you need to PM that person for their address.

Friends of Craftster are allowed 3 wishes at one time, others are allowed 2 wishes.  If this is your first swap, you are only allowed one wish until your craft is received for this month.  Do not choose over your given limit.
If you already have one claim that will be sent out late, please don't claim again until that one is sent out.

I live in Sweden with my SO and our baby (will be two years old on Valentines Day). I work as a student guidance councellor at the university. My SO works part time and is a part time stay at home daddy. During the last two years, we have both worked part time and been part time stay at home parents (except for the first three months when I studied full time and Mika was home with daddy full time). I also teach craft classes in the evenings. Lots of projects going on.    


Please note: If you want to send me a book directly from amazon or some other online shop, please make sure that it is shipped from Europe. Otherwise I may face heavy customs fees.

Latch & hook kit
My aunt made a couple of pillows using this technique back in the seventies. Apparently she loved it so much she used to go up an hour earlier in the morning to have time to work on them before work! Since she is not normally the crafty type I feel that this has to be encouraged, so I want to give her another kit, but they are hard to find in Sweden. Would love one with cats/kittens! I know this is a lot to ask for, but if someone wants to make me a non-elastic baby sling I would absolutely love you! Maybe something like the Storchen wiege (http://www.storchenwiege.com/). A non-elastic sling should preferably be woven diagonally (i.e. the fabric you use should be, look at the close-ups on the Storchenwiege site), but maybe it works with other fabrics as well. Other kinds of ergonomical carriers would also be great, like a meitai maybe (www.meitaibaby.com). Not a ring sling though, since they would probably kill my back. I need something with the weight well distributed over both shoulders and hips.

Woodland creatures to live in Christmas tree
Felt creatures for my Chrismas tree. We have this white plastic Christmas tree, that is really quite good looking, kind of magical with lights shining. I discovered that it looks even more magical if I let little creatures live on the branches, so for next Christmas I will need more woodland creatures, monsters or something like that to inhabit it. Felt looks good. I guess they could be crocheted as well, little amigurumis. Size maybe somewhere between 1.5" and 3.5". Bathing suit fabric/pattern/old pictures
Bathing suit fabric and/or pictures/patterns of old bathing suits (think the twenties-thirties). I am thinking of sewing a bathing suit for little Mika, modelled after an old bathing suit. I'd like something with bloomers like legs, maybe in white and/or navy blue or striped (any colours), but colourful patterns (like flowers or something) would also look nice. I am doing this just for fun. She likes to bathe in the nude anyway.   I just took tailoring classes, so I should be able to sew it as long as I have pictures and fabrics. A pattern for any sizes to adapt to her size would also be nice. Maybe I could crochet one as well come to think of it, but then the pattern would have to be made for a baby, since I am no good at adapting crochet patterns.

Something to punch holes in shrink plastic, preferably with different sizes and not too poor quality. I used to have one that could barely make holes, and you had to trim the holes afterwords with scissors.

Cotton fabric with "frames" on
I am looking for fabric that consists of "frames" of some sort with a white inside. Ideal would be images of empty photo frames (if anyone has seen such a fabric, PLEASE tell me where  ), but otherwise maybe just white squares with a border of some other colour around it. I would like to use it to iron-on images in the white sqare and get the effect that the image is framed.

Hello everyone! I’m a 27 year old pharmacist from Sweden, will turn 28 the first of March. I usually think about myself as a knitter but I do a lot of different crafts and enjoy creating artsy mixed media pieces. Pincushions with fun little shrinky dink pins are also tons of fun to make. Knitting and crafting is what’s keeping me sane-ish at the moment. I knit so I don't kill people XD

Purple is my favourite colour at the moment. Dark purple is my big favourite but shades of red are nice too. Colour combinations I like: red-black, red-black-silver, dark purple-silver, chocolate brown-cyan/teal, bright rainbows, red-yellow-orange/fire colours. My wists should give some ideas of colours and patterns I like too. I’m a pale girl so the brighter colours work better on things like socks and things I’m not going to wear near my face.

Our home decoration is mostly red-black-white and birch with a bit of grey tossed in with our dark grey sofa and some other grey furniture.

I love recycling and wouldn’t mind getting second hand or thrifted supplies as long as they’re clean and not broken beyond repair. I really like how crafting can turn trash into treasure so a upgraded thriftstore find would be great to receive.

Themes and things I like: Owls, sushi, Watership down, recycling, shiny things, tea, knitting, yarrrrrrn, being warm, roleplaying/my RP-characters.

NEW! The perfect bar of soap. I really, really liked the Lush soap 'Twas the night before christmas but it's now discontinued. It was not just the fact that it's a lovely shade of dark purple (with glitter!), it was the scent too. It didn't have quite as overpowering smell as some of the Lush soaps, so I guess the thing that turned off other Lush-fans made me love it *longing sigh* Could any of you talented soap makers try to create something similar, or perhaps a new favourite for me?

An apron for the chef in the family (my fiancé). He’s a big guy so it’d have to be a large one. Perhaps with “Life is like a jar of jalapenos – what you do today might burn your ass tomorrow” stencilled on it? Other themes that might be good are star wars, battleship galactica, order of the stick, WoW (horde), realistic airplanes and big swords.

NEW! Reusable grocery bag/market bag. Could be sewn, knitted, crocheted, fused plastic... etc.

Craft apron for me. (short with pockets) Bonus points if there's an owl on it.

Bracelet with a lot of charms/dangly beads like this. Either shades of blue (for my sister) or shades of green (for mom) or perhaps something purple and silver for me. We all have rather small wrists but I can provide exact measurements if this is claimed.

Decorated T-shirts for my fiancé. 3XL US size or 5XL European size. Stencilled or perhaps embroidered or appliquéd would be better than iron-on decorations since I’ve had poor luck washing iron-on decorated clothes. Funny/cute magnets for my fridge. I really like miniatures so miniature food (or other miniatures) on magnets would be great.

Baby stuff. Some people I love are spawning so if you love creating adorable baby things I can gift them to a deserving baby. Baby is due in May. (Ideas for themes: Gnomes/dwarves, library/book related, mushrooms/toadstools)

Crochet hook roll. The few hooks I have are always missing when I want them =) Thank you claire313! I’ve recently got some larger hooks so I could use a second one with rather large slots for the hooks.

Poly clay covered hooks. I like hooks with thicker handles so thick pretty handles must be perfect!

A ceramic yarn bowl.

A pair of hand knitted socks for me. *new* And a VERY BIG WISH! -- A Cozy Winter Wrap like this thread. (She also has a tutorial here.) The embroidery shown on it is totally optional and totally not required. Most any color would be ok (just no red/orange/yellow/pinks please.) I am ALWAYS cold and would LOVE one of these!!

 -- A simple robe. I really like this style. Doesn't have to be exactly like that but I like the Japanese/Asian/Cherry Blossom influence, but it could be other colors/patterns that I like as well. Doesn't need to be form-fitting, can be a little roomy just not too oversized. (A little roomy is fine.) I'm generally a US size 4.

 -- A day tote. There's not a thing I don't love about this one for example, but it could be in different fabrics of similar colors for example. It looks sturdy and says it has pockets and the shape is really lovely.

 -- A Weekender Type Bag. I really like this one which would be a lovely weekender bag since I don't own any luggage. (It has an almost Steampunk feel to me with the leather - which could totally be faux!) And of course, Amy Butler's pattern is neat but it wouldn't have to be in her fabric.

*big wish* -- Some throw pillow slip covers. I'd love to change up my throw pillows more often. What might be fun is to have some slip covers I could put over the existing pillows to mix things up now and then. I have two standard size, square pillows (I can measure for exact if you want) on my couch. My living room features a "sand" colored couch and dark "espresso" brown entertainment center with chrome accents. So browns and blues would be cool, but also like autumny colors, or earth tones or maybe even some seasonal ones. I don't know. It just seems like it'd be fun to have an assortment to change it out now and then! I'm wisting some prints I like as examples HERE.

 -- A Kate Spade Beantown Quinn Knockoff Purse. Original THIS and I first saw it HERE by JennyBear. I'd like a shorter handle like the original (maybe just enough to go over the shoulder?) and in red, green, brown or grey. It's just such a cool shape!

I think this is one of the most perfect things ever. I don't really need scarves as a rule because I live in Florida, but I'd find reasons to wear one like this!

*big wish* -- Hand knit socks. Something warm and soft I've got small feet so like a 6.5 size foot or girl's sized large socks for reference. There are some wisted here for inspiration.

 -- A cable knit bag. I really like cable knit and I think this bag is really cool.

 -- A lightweight/lacy shawl. (Like this example. I love the delicate lace of this. I'm always cold so something to cover my arts at dinner or in the movies would be great. Could be this or other colors. Something neutral probably best.

*new* And a VERY BIG WISH! -- A Cozy Winter Wrap like this thread. (She also has a tutorial here.) The embroidery shown on it is totally optional and totally not required. Most any color would be ok (just no red/orange/yellow/pinks please.) I am ALWAYS cold and would LOVE one of these!!

 -- A simple robe. I really like this style. Doesn't have to be exactly like that but I like the Japanese/Asian/Cherry Blossom influence, but it could be other colors/patterns that I like as well. Doesn't need to be form-fitting, can be a little roomy just not too oversized. (A little roomy is fine.) I'm generally a US size 4.

 -- A day tote. There's not a thing I don't love about this one for example, but it could be in different fabrics of similar colors for example. It looks sturdy and says it has pockets and the shape is really lovely.

 -- A Weekender Type Bag. I really like this one which would be a lovely weekender bag since I don't own any luggage. (It has an almost Steampunk feel to me with the leather - which could totally be faux!) And of course, Amy Butler's pattern is neat but it wouldn't have to be in her fabric.

-- Something made from the JOEL DEWBERRY'S AVIARY ALMOND FABRIC. (Stuff like this wristlet or these potholders or this craft apron or this card holder etc. Pillows, aprons, anything! I am just in love with this fabric!

*big wish* -- Some throw pillow slip covers. I'd love to change up my throw pillows more often. What might be fun is to have some slip covers I could put over the existing pillows to mix things up now and then. I have two standard size, square pillows (I can measure for exact if you want) on my couch. My living room features a "sand" colored couch and dark "espresso" brown entertainment center with chrome accents. So browns and blues would be cool, but also like autumny colors, or earth tones or maybe even some seasonal ones. I don't know. It just seems like it'd be fun to have an assortment to change it out now and then! I'm wisting some prints I like as examples HERE.

-- A Kate Spade Beantown Quinn Knockoff Purse. Original THIS and I first saw it HERE by JennyBear. I'd like a shorter handle like the original (maybe just enough to go over the shoulder?) and in red, green, brown or grey. It's just such a cool shape! thanks luckdragon!

 *new* -- A sewing machine cover. I do own one - this one specifically - but I'm still pretty terrible. I also don't use it a lot so a nice, pretty cover would be good to keep the cat hair and dust off it.

Knitting

*HUGE wish* -- This "entrelac" style scarf in these type of earthy, natural colors. (If it were in a mix of teal blue and chocolate brown that would work too.) I think this is one of the most perfect things ever. I don't really need scarves as a rule because I live in Florida, but I'd find reasons to wear one like this!

*big wish* -- Hand knit socks. Something warm and soft I've got small feet so like a 6.5 size foot or girl's sized large socks for reference. There are some wisted here for inspiration.

 -- A cable knit bag. I really like cable knit and I think this bag is really cool.

 -- A lightweight/lacy shawl. (Like this example. I love the delicate lace of this. I'm always cold so something to cover my arts at dinner or in the movies would be great. Could be this or other colors. Something neutral probably best.


Other

*new* -- Some crochet slipper socks like this pair. The style is so cute that they look like Mary Jane's. I wear a size 6.5 US shoe and have little feet.

 -- Fitted Style Tee Shirts. Short sleeve, 3/4 length or long sleeve. (Since this time of year I might get to actually wear a longer sleeve!) Fitted, size small or US 4 equivalent. I have received a ton and I love them but I also live in fitted tees and more are always welcome. I have a bunch of styles I love wisted for inspiration. thank you to everyone who's made one - I can't get enough!

*new*  -- Hand-Dyed / "Shibori-Dyed" Fitted Tee Shirts Like above, short sleeve, 3/4 or long sleeve is fine so long as it's fitted. I like styles like THESE in my wists. I especially love the flame style one but really like this type of look a lot. It's different from the shirts I typically wear and I like that. (Please just no hippie/Grateful Dead rainbow style tie dye. Nothing against hippies but it's just not my personal preference.)

*new* -- A ribbon organizer. I have a few here in my wists but something to wrangle the spools so they're not just piled all over my desk would be nice.

*new* -- A sewing basket. You know, classic little box with a handle to store my growing collection of threads, notions, scissors, etc. Like this idea/ or this one. Doesn't have to be that fabric or anything but that idea. Right now, all my stuff is just piled up in a mess on my desk.

*big wish*  -- Something stained glass - sun catcher, nightlight, glass mosaic item, etc. I just love stained glass and wouldn't even know where to begin making it myself. I have a wall of sliding glass doors and a balcony to show things off.

 -- Something glass work like a vase or something. Blown or torch or whatever. A cool medium I don't know how to work with at all. This is really pretty for example.

 -- Something ceramic/pottery or vase or a bowl or a tea mug or whatever. Again, a skill I don't have but really love. (A couple things I've wisted for inspiration.)

*big wish* -- Anything with a phoenix on it. I LOVE the phoenix and there's not nearly enough phoenix-related things in the world or my life. You can check out my wisted phoenix items here as inspiration.

 -- Fused glass or glass (microscope) slide pendants you think I'd like. (Here are some wisted inspiration items as examples.)

 -- Home decor items that you think I'd like based on my wists, likes, etc. I love the chocolate brown/blue combo, I have way too many dvd's and not enough storage for them, I could use decorative storage in general, I have two kitties who would love things to play with/scratch/climb on, etc.

 -- Something with owls. I love owls, especially snowy and great horned owls.

 -- Surprise me! Look at my wists or my amazon wishlist, or the colors I like and see what you can make that you think I'd like.
