Looking through it seems pretty awesome. I'm currently unemployed, the job market is really sucking right now, and doing crafts in my free time. Would be nice to get some extra dough on the side but I lack the confidence that people would actually PAY for some of my creations. I see similar things on etsy but I don't know how well it sells.

From your point of view, Is it worth it to have an etsy account? Do people appreciate your work? How long does it take to sell?
and more importantly, what can and can't be sold? I find their faq really lacking and quite confusing.

I apologize if this is the wrong place for this. I was just curious on what 'crafsters' take on the whole thing was as most of these forum posts are from 2007.  Tongue

While you're pondering take a look at Artfire.com. It's an up and coming craft selling
online marketplace. I have a shop there.......it was easy to set up and manage,
the cost is very reasonable and I have made some sales.

I have an Etsy account & in my opinion, if you're looking to turn a fast buck it will be slow. Not to discourage you, but everyone is selling different versions of the same items & you will need to have something extraodinary or unique to sell. It also helps to have a large customer base = family & friends. It has been a fun experience for me. I love knowing that I have a shop online & I'm selling to people in the U.S. & other countries.
