PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE NOT POSTING A LIST (WITH APPROVAL). THERE IS A SEPARATE THREAD FOR DISCUSSION; THIS THREAD IS FOR BIRTHDAY LISTS ONLY.

PLEASE READ ALL RULES BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR INFO. THERE WILL BE A QUIZ. REALLY.

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR LIST UNTIL YOU RECEIVE A PM SAYING THAT YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED.

Questions? Please post here in the discussion/gallery:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=336276.0

Swap name: February 2010 Birthday Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Slingmomma
Sign-up date range: Feb 1 - Feb 28
DATE TO SEND ITEMS BY: 2 weeks after you make a claim

Limited to a certain number of people?: No.
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No.
You must be 16 years old to swap.

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- Participant lives in the United States: YES/NO
- If yes, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES
- If no, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap: This swap was organized so everyone can get something crafty for their birthday!

Please read the guidelines carefully.

1. This swap is list style, like the Ongoing Wishlist Swap, however it is NOT chain style. You can choose any birthday craftster’s list that is posted, rather than only being able to pick from the last one posted.

2. This is a medium item swap. A medium item is defined as a craft or recon, etc that takes you two hours to complete OR $20 worth of Store Bought Items. (If bought from a thrift store, estimate at what it would have cost new.) However you may also substitute a few small items for a medium.

3. If your birthday is in swap's current month, you can post your birthday wish list for this month. To do that, you must first PM me with the swap questionnaire filled out and wait for approval. While you're waiting, be sure to post in the discussion thread:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=336276.0

4. Once you have been approved, you may post your list of things that you would like to receive. This is the format for your lists: First post your location and a short bio of yourself, then a list of crafted items you would like, then craft supplies (if any) and lastly you can put a few “extras” that aren’t crafted, things like candy or tea. Remember, the more items on your list, the more likely you are to be chosen. The minimum of items to post is five. Also including your wists is a good way for people to get the idea of your likes and style. If you have any allergies please type them in red in your bio section.

5. Please post lists only in this thread. Discussion can be done here in the combined discussion/gallery thread:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=336276.0
Please be sure to post here so that you can be part of the discussion and receive updates

6. Every birthday participant must make at least one claim. You may have up to two claims at a time, unless you are an FOC or a first time swapper, and then you can claim again once your items are received (not when you mail out). New swappers may only have one outstanding claim; they may claim again after their first claim is received. FOC"s may have 3 outstanding claims at a time. Claims need to be made from the "crafted" and "craft supplies" sections of a person's list. The "extras" are just that--extra items you may want to throw in if you are feeling generous, but claims cannot be solely extras. Keep it crafty :-) (I'm asking that if you are sending mostly supplies, that you craft a little something for the bday babe.)

7. You may get claimed more than once, but your minimum amount to claim is one. It is possible you may not get claimed at all. In this case you will not be provided a swap angel; angels are only if you get flaked on. However I do my best to make sure everyone gets claimed by keeping track of how many times each person is claimed. If possible try to pick someone who has been claimed 0 times versus someone who has been claimed 3 times.

8. If it is not your birthday but you would like to send a birthday present out you may do so. Fill out the “non-birthday swapper” questionnaire and send it to me for approval. Birthday swappers who receive a present from a non-birthday swapper must send a snail mail thank you card. You will not receive feedback until I hear from the other swapper that they have received a thank you card.

9. When you choose to fulfill a birthday wish, PM both the organizer AND the chosen craftster. At that time, please request the address for where to send it. After that you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.

10. It is super important for everyone to keep good communication. It is REQUIRED that you PM me when you've sent and of course, don't forget the DC#. It is REQUIRED that when you receive, you PM me and publicly announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).

11. When one of your items is chosen, please cross it out so that it is easier for others to see what has been chosen.
(It wouldn't hurt to thank the person at this time either.)

12. If you are sending late you must PM me by your send-out date. If your send-out date comes and goes and you don’t PM me, you will receive “poor communication” feedback. It should not be my job to hunt you down and find out what is going on.

Please make sure to put “February Birthday Swap” or something equivalent in the subject line on all communications. The most important thing to me is communication. Please PM me when you send and receive, and please reply to my PM's to you in a timely manner.

If you format your pm's like this, I'll love you forever (seriously Wink )
Format for PM's:

Proper label:
"February Bday Swap" and either "Sign-up," "Claim," "Sent," "Received," or "Question"

When sending sent and received pm's include the send-by date, listed in the second post of the main thread, your user name, their user name and the item. Just copy and past the info from the second post if you want!

Outstanding claims allowed:
FOC's: 3 at a time
First time swappers: 1 at a time
Everyone else: 2 at a time

Happy Birthday to me  Grin (all of you too!)

My name is Kirsten and I turned 22 today (2/4).  Fro my birthday I got an AARP application in the mail (no joke), I guess they mistook the 2s for 6s? hehe
I'm currently living in Southern Illinois, going to college.  I study German, Spanish, International Trade, Management, and Marketing (and I hope some day I will actually get out of here).  I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, crafting...duh, gardening, Wii, geocaching, and thousands of other things.

I am an extremely disorganized person and I'm embarrassed to say I have a constant pile of dishes sitting by the sink.

I love sock monkeys and rubber ducks.  I hate driving so my bicycle is my main mode of transportation.

My wists is a little outdated, but I still like most of the things there.  I will try to update it.

My favorite colors are red, green, and pink.

Crafted Items

Sock monkey hat like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Crochet-Boutique-SOCK-MONKEY-Hat-with-Ear-Flaps_W0QQitemZ150411073939QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item230532d993  Thanks pamelabd!!!  Grin

A roll of fabric paper towels.  I have seen many around craftster, I think maybe they are velcroed together so that they are on a roll  Huh

Domokun mittens/gloves (there were some awesome ones posted recently)

Homemade soap/bath stuff

Passport wallet (there is one in my wist)

Resin/Glass jewelry

Fabric scrap bucket (like the kind that hangs off the table)/anything that will make me more organized

Wist surprise, or surprise based on my interests

Supplies

Scrapbook supplies

Non plastic beads/jewelry findings

Soap making kit.  I tried melt and pour ages ago, but I would really love to try "real" soap.

Cake/cookie decorating supplies

Resin molds

Surprises are good too

Extras

Coffee (whole beans is preferred but I will accept and drink any kind)

Stickers

Strange/cool rubber duck

Small magnets

Bottle caps

Anything you want to send me Smiley

My name is Sarah, I live in Chicago, IL. I'll be 33 (yikes!) on February 15.
As my username says, I'm a stay-at-home mom. I used to be a lawyer & will be again.. someday. I have no allergies (but I REALLY dislike cigarette smoke!) & we have a dogs (a terrier mutt). I have two sons, Cooper, 2, & Dexter, 3 months. My taste is pretty eclectic. I love bright colors, and orange is my favorite. There aren't really any colors I don't like. I'm not really big on jewelry... I think it's pretty but I just don't wear it (I will wear small post earrings & anklets). I'm pretty open to anything (& not easily offended). I have more info on my profile & you can always check out my blog, wist, or etsy shop. I'm fine with used (quality) items or upcycled/repurposed items. I love batik fabric, whimsical designs (think Mad Hatter) & Dr. Seuss!
Also, I update my wist constantly so theres always new stuff on there.

CRAFTS

NEW * A creative quilt block (12") - I'm inspired by this and I'd like to make a kids quilt with fuzzy/fun fabric & lots of texture. I'd like to do unique stuff (NOT commercial characters) such as monsters/aliens, numbers, letters, trees, animals, etc. Anything that would be interesting to kids. I want lots of texture, but I'd like it to be machine washable. I'd love anything unique you can think up!

* A Dr. Who scarf (sorry, this is probably way more than a medium; I just don't know 'cause I don't do any real knitting or anything)

* A dandelion shirt - I wear large currently. Any color really; I just love all the blowing dandelion shirts on Craftster & Etsy.

* Baskets for storage - fabric baskets, or coiled fabric or plarn, or anything else you can come up with. They'll be for my crafting items or kids' toys so colors/designs for me or kids are great.

* A sweater/shrug/wrap like this

* Boots like this or this (but with a sole that can be worn outdoors). Darker colors are better, but I'm pretty open to any color. (I'm a size 9)

* Upcycled sweater boots

* Felt food

* Educational/learning toys for my 2-year-old son. He's really into the alphabet, colors, & numbers now. Busy toys for the car are great!

* Car organizer

* Small planner (no larger than 4x5) that I can carry in a diaper bag. Could be paper craft, fabric covered, or whatever, just so long as its a little durable. Thanks to pcollins399!

* Totally super huge obnoxious wish: Painted, drawn-on, tye-dyed, bleached, or otherwise embellished/decorated Converse All-Stars - Im totally fine with used Converse & I wear a size 7 (9 in womens, but 7 in Converse). Pretty much any creative design would be great, but if it was Dr. Seuss related Id probably pee in my pants from excitement.

Super big thanks to pamelabd for claiming me for embellished Converse!! Smiley

* small (diaper) bag (maybe 12 by 15-ish or something) with pockets; maybe even an external pocket or two on the sides for a sippy cup or bottle of water. Backpack or messenger bag so its easy to carry everywhere.

* Something (maybe a throw pillow?) commemorating one of the most important rules my husband & I have in our marriage: "The Rule Of Specific Examples" (basically, we agree that it's difficult to think of specific examples so if in an argument you make a complaint but can't back it up with a specific example then you invoke "the rule of specific examples" & the other can't hold it against you).

* Play silks

* Toddler busy book - I've received 2 of these from craftsters in other swaps & we LOVE them so I'm always open to another Smiley

* Embroidered or painted cloth diapers (pocket or AIO, preferably medium, but large is fine too). Some examples here and here

* Anything for storage of sewing supplies. I have lots of ribbon (on spools & loose), thread, elastic, zippers, velcro, & other odds & ends that need spiffy new (or new to me) homes. (I'm putting this in all three categories 'cause I think it could fit in all of them!)

* A surprise (wisty or something Id like)

Thanks to wx2dzug and pcollins399 for wist surprises! Smiley

SUPPLIES[/b]

* medium weight fusible interfacing

* cloth diaper making kit

* felt food making kit

* snap press (used is fine!)

* fabric - I like bright colors & interesting prints. Amy Butler & Michael Miller type stuff is always great. I love batiks. I'd love some knit fabric.

* zippers

* bias tape maker (used is fine!)

* minky fabric - preferably boy or gender neutral colors/designs

* Anything for storage of sewing supplies. I have lots of ribbon (on spools & loose), thread, elastic, zippers, velcro, & other odds & ends that need spiffy new (or new to me) homes.

EXTRAS

* used or thrift clothing with fabric I can use (interesting  prints or textures)
* fabric scraps
* knee high socks in stripes or interesting colors/prints
* fun lunch/food items - squiggly straws, fun shaped sandwich cutters, popsicle molds, cookie cutters, etc.
* Anything for storage of sewing supplies. I have lots of ribbon (on spools & loose), thread, elastic, zippers, velcro, & other odds & ends that need spiffy new (or new to me) homes.

Thanks! Smiley

Hey there!

I'm Patrick and I'll be turning 20 on the 27th.  I'm from Guelph, Onatrio, Canada.  My excellent girlfriend got me on here and although I haven't posted anything yet I have more than a few ideas running around that I'm going to make during the summer.  I'm currently in university studying history and hope to become a highschool history teacher.  I'm really into old video games, especially Nintendo, love to read...I also have a special affinity for zombies and robots and strange things in general.  Love movies and books in general.  I want to leave lots of stuff to your imagination so I get something truly unique

I have no allergies that you would send me (unless you sent something moldy...but why would you?)

Favourite Colours: Dark blues, red, lime green, orange, darker greys (in no particular order)

I crochet, paper mache and I'm interested in learning how to possibly embroider/cross stitch.

My slowly growing Wist:http://www.wists.com/pcollins399
