Wow, what a great transformation! You're right in that the original was too bright... the subtle coffee dye made a huge improvement and looks great with that vest you made. I especially loved that you took the time to swap the buttons and add some embroidery. I didn't think it'd be that noticeable on the final garment but it looks lovely.  Cheesy

I like how much you were able to change the look of the blouse with just a bit of embroidery and a dip in coffee. I'd say "Next time take a 'before' photo!" but I never remember either!

That really is a great blouse design and so is the vest you made. The leather lapels are so Steampunk! Just the right details to make it not-quite-Victorian.

I love this more than kittens.  Such inspiring ideas!  I've beverage-dyed fabric for little crafty projects before but it never would have crossed my mind to dye an entire garment.

I echo everyone else; nice job! It makes a big yet subtle difference -- I know *I* feel weird wearing bright white, too -- so this is definitely inspirational. I have a silk top that I tea/coffee dyed, but this is a great idea for the whole "white blouse" issue.

(AND, it looks a lot like an H&M blouse to me . . . yesno? I loooove H&M . . . I will now be on the alert.)

And awesome vest, too, to boot! Well done all 'round.

what a fabulous idea!

i have this great (bright) white top that i just can't bring my self to wear bc of the color... a dip in a pot of coffee might just do the trick!

maybe this is a dumb question, but can you wash it? or will the color come out?

thanks for the inspiration! Cheesy

Gorgeous! It is always those subtle details that make a ready to wear shirt so much better and your own. Good ideas! Makes me think of some things I could do...
