I finally took pictures of my matchbox. I wanted it to have a vintage feel to it, since I've been obsessed with that lately. The only matchbox I had was way too small for the image I wanted to use so I modified this template to make it 2x3: http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/matchbox.htm.

The rose & tag are attached with foam dots so they stand out.

The top has an eyelet with a loop of ribbon to make it easier to slide open.

Back:

When you slide the matchbox open, you see:

Back & side of inside part:

Both parts together:

Ok, enough teasing..what's behind the curtain, you ask?

Smiley The surprise is that the outside is nice & the inside is naughty!- something you'd never suspect was hiding in such a mellow package. Kiss

I used an image from http://pin-ups.freeservers.com/index_r2.html for the inside. Her tassels are made from thread. I got the tiny play money from http://www.tinythingsarecute.com/. Here's a closeup:

Please let me know what you think!

Okay, this gets my vote for Best Surprise. I defy anyone to better it! I absolutely love the contrast between the outside (beautifully done but rather staid), and the inside. And I especially love the fact that it's a double surprise. I'm not sure what I expected to be inside, but it wasn't a peep-show curtain. And then to find that it really was a peep-show made me hoot with laughter!

One of the things I'm enjoying most about looking at all these projects as they're posted is that each one shifts my idea of "matchbox" a little further. It literally never occurred to me, for example, to make the box slide UP instead of out. That changes everything!

All that and boobie tassels, too! Cheesy

i love personal swaps. i'm looking to swap my art or paper crafts for some re-usable fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, fabric paper towels, glass pendants, ephemera, or art books.

I like the contrast of the outside and the inside... the pin-up is great and I love that you added the tassels...  Smiley I like the ribbon loop with the eyelet too, I'm going to have to remember that
