So, one of my buddies is due with her daughter next month! So, as part of her baby shower gift I tie-dyed 5 onesies and on the one shown here I added a cross-stitch of Good Luck Bear from the Care Bears. I bought the pattern kit from some hobby store (can't remember which as it was a long time ago) and I think my only quarrel with it is that they made the two greens waaay too similar in hue and it's kind of hard to see the outline >_< But I worked really hard on it (2 days for such a tiny project?! O.O) and this is also the first pattern that I have actually finished and actually did all the counting correctly! For some reason, I have the hardest time with following patterns >_< Anyway, here it is, the magnificent green onesie!

And a close-up of Good Luck Bear:

I attached him to the shirt with a zig-zag stitch, so he should hold... oh- I dyed the onesie with Tulip brand dyes (I had blue and yellow tints, therefore we get the slightly mottled look of the shirt, I like the look ^_^) and these are all onesies that fit 8lb - 12lb babies.

Hehe, for me it was always a toss-up between Good Luck Bear and TenderHeart bear Smiley Though Grumpy and Sleepy were close, too, 'cause they were blue! And Grumpy always needed a hug *awwwwhhhh*

I am in LOVE!!!!  The mottled effect is perfect, and the care bear looks great too!

I'm not giong to go post on the other tie-dyed ones or the 50 projects craftalong because I am in a hurry to get to bed, but I wanted to tell you you have set a great example for me.  I just bought a five pack of onsies for my neice with the intention of tie-dying two or three, and doing an inkjet printer iron-on on the rest.  I was so nervous that tie-dye would look...bad, somehow...but after seeing your posts I am so excited to try it!  I have a bunch of white t's for me and the dd that will be getting some dye too, yay!

And thanks for the tip about Tulip, I will be hunting for this at Joann's tomorrow.   Grin
