MONSTER good luck coming my way!

I was blessed when my neighbor handed me a grocery sack of junky old watches.  Over a dozen or so (lost count).  Inside each was a treasure chest.  The tiniest screws I have ever imagined.  I did my research about the world of steampunk and this is what I have came up with so far:

Polymer clay magnets with exposed parts.

Wanting to enclose the sharp points of the watch parts I used 3 applications of liquid Kato clay with a heat gun.  The liquid clay cured very clear and shiney!

I cast these parts in resin.  I beaded around the large cab onto leather.  I pressed the small cab into polymer clay, removed cab then bake, after cooling I glue in the cab.  NEVER use a heat gun or oven with resin!  (not that I failed doing so, but I hear from others that have tried, so just warning you!  STINK STANK STUNK  Tongue)

I was inspired by Eugena Topina and Christi Friesen both published in PolymerCafe'.

Fantastic! I love them - and the variety of different ways you have done it is amazing. I really love the one you beaded the best and I love the top ones also - the colors of the clay definitely mesh with the steam punk! Once again, wonderful job beadizzygrl!

Thanks bunches Kaleesi!  I think the beadwork with the cube beads has the steampunk gear look.  The cubes have a worn metal finish to them.
