She obv had a had time letting it go...and even said something like, well since i can see you are a crafter, then i know that you will take care of it....well.....here is what i did to her hand painted platter....

A PINUP AND RAT ROD DECOUPAGE TRAY...now proudly displayed on my wicker trunk....

...don't forget the back...

Awesome!  I laughed out loud when I read your description.  Something tells me she was hoping you would keep it as is?  Unless she's imaginary- in which case pretend I didn't say anything.

My husband was trying not to laugh cuz he knew what i was going to do with it! But I only paid $5 for this huge aluminum platter that is now coffee table art....score!

I'm the same way in Charity shops. I'm always nervous to buy things - thinking that somehow the sales people can read my mind and know that I am going to tear all the books and things I buy apart  Tongue
